Muhabura, also written Muhavura, is an extinct volcano rising to 4,127 m (13,540 ft) on the Rwanda-Uganda border. It straddles Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda, and is the third-highest of the eight Virunga volcanoes.
Its name means "The Guide" in Kinyarwanda: the near-symmetrical cone is visible from across much of Rwanda and Uganda and long served travellers as a landmark. A small crater lake sits at the summit.
